Kim, I'm late commenting, but I love this quote and many of the others you have been posting. Very inspirational, and I encourage you to keep posting. This particular one strikes a nerve for me. I'm trying to improve my writing and painting, and it is so frustrating at times to be blind to my work's weaknesses. But, this cooking metaphor makes sense to me. Cook long enough, and you start to gain an instinctive feel for it. I can only hope the same proves true for painting and writing.
